Innovative Teaching Spaces Recommendations

Posted by Mosaic Space

Date posted:

Conducted in collaboration with our business partner New Learning Environments: Rubida Research as part of a wider accommodation review for a large city university, Mosaic-Space examined the current usage of collaborative and innovative learning spaces and made recommendations for the implementation of state-of-the-art learning spaces.

A major part of the brief was to advise on the implementation of an eLearning Strategy to simultaneously support sound pedagogy, reliable access and delivery, and appropriate creativity and innovation. The strategy promoted an increase in the availability of online learning materials for students, including postgraduate research.

Learning spaces to support project based learning using a variety of spaces that flow into each other were recommended, with conversion of appropriately configured under-utilised space to the new functions having been identified. Distributed and equitable access to computers and seamless internet coverage on campus, including video conference facilities, were highlighted as areas of potential improvement.
